Families have been nourished, defined, redefined, and as is the case more and more abandoned as a result of our theological discussions. Yet the lenses through which we see and discern are often at the root of ill-made conclusions.
Through the counsel of God, the Theos, the author and finisher of the believer's faith and all creation, there are to be those who are to be informed, well learned, approved unto God, and thus thoroughly equipped to "rightly divide" the Word of Truth, which is the final authority on every topic regarding the Theos.
The Apostle Paul is inspired to give the mandate in 2 Tim. 2:15 to a young pastor, but the mandate is also to each of us by application, who have taken hold of the Truth who has taken hold of us. Many think the task to rightly divide is restricted to those who stand behind the sacred desk, but that would be wrong division. Others think right division is overrated. That we should just speak "our minds." That every person should do what "they think" is right (Judges 21:25), but that would be wrong division.
In what we have come to know as the great commission, Jesus the Christ declared all power and authority had been given Him in Heaven and Earth. The Empowered One commanded and commissioned His disciples to GO to all nations and teach everything He taught, not just them, but us, and to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, adding that He - Jesus the Christ would be with us every step of the way. Matt. 28:18-20
All nations have gathered here in this space. Some are hopeless and despondent over lost wages, sickness and disease, as well as the changing of the guard of our country. With wrong division, with misinformed theological discussions, many have missed and others have forgotten, that God is in control. We elect presidents, but God elects and resurrects kings! Yet, there is one King that reigns and rules. He is the King of King's and the Lord of lords!
We have the privilege to engage the global stage in love with this Truth, but we must not be derelict in our responsibility to study, to prepare to rightly divide the Word that infuses faith to align our priorities and our very lives with the King of King's priorities. Matt. 6:33
