HALLOWED BE THY NAME
Bible Study

To Know God is to Love God. To Love God is to Serve God. So for a season we will explore the names of God found in scripture. The names of God communicate the characteristics and the nature of God. As we reflect upon the names of God, we have the great privilege of getting to know God better. Getting to know God better day by day will fuel your intimacy with God, as well as your ability to serve Him better and shape your service to others for the glory of God.
I pray that you will take the opportunity and privilege to know Him better. Worship God using God's names.
It will be an uplifting experience for you. God is the most beautiful, wonderful, awesome person I know, and
I look forward to the eternity it will take to get to know God more and more.

14. Mashiach: Messiah - The Anointed One. Isaiah 61:1, Luke 3:23-28
Essentially Mashiach is a title for Yeshua HaMashiach, or Jesus the Messiah - the Saviour of the world. In the Old Testament, Yahweh - God told how He would send the Mashiach to rescue His people, to make everything right and to destroy evil. The Jews looked forward to the arrival of this Jewish hero, but rejected Yeshua HaMashiach, because their expectations of what His presence would bring.
Instead of a soldier, Jesus was a servant. Instead of being a mighty King, Jesus died on a cross. The Jews did not recognize God's plan for Jesus the Messiah, but Jesus still saved those who believed in Him by His death on the cross. He came back from the dead and now rules in Heaven above. He will return again, according to His promise and will judge those who did not believe, and bless those who do to dwell with Him eternally.
